Missing Walt Disney World

So last year I went to Disney World (post here).  I went with my family, mostly for the kids.  I had no expectations except for the fact that my kids would love having the opportunity to go and would remember this trip (or parts of it) for a long time. We went with my Brother-in-Law and his family as a large group.  There where nine of us in total, 4 adults and 5 kids.  By the end of the week long trip my kids had caught some sort of stomach bug and puked all the way home and I was tried of my in laws and their kids.  But you know what… I want to go back so bad it hurts.

I never would have imagined it.  We had such an stressful time in the end we swore we would never do this again and only do close to home trips.  After we got back though, I started to think about the trip and the fun and experience we all had.  I thought about the fantastic food we had, the Polynesian Hotel we stayed in, the rides and the costumed characters we met.  Most of all, the fun and memories we had made.

I wouldn’t have pegged me as a Disney person.  For years, as an animator, I didn’t like them.  They where the establishment of animation and I chose to toss my hat in with the little guy.  My views have changed after being there.  I still like the little guy animations, but I see Disney as something to marvel at too.  The Walt Disney park offers so much that you can tell that it’s clear goal is to make sure you have the best time possible.  And I did.  My wife and I are planning and saving a family trip to go back next year we hope.  We can’t wait… I think we talk about it more then the kids.

Have you ever had a trip or vacation that was so fantastic that you just had to go back?

I know how you feel man. I went on a cruise with the band from my college. (yes, I was a band geek) It was a 5 day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. Being in Mexico was fun and the stuff we did was cool, but the ride on the ship was something totally different.

We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise liner, Jewel of the Seas maybe? I can’t remember. There was never a dull moment on that ship. Games, swimming, shopping during the day, and at night there were shows to see and I think 2 clubs to go hang out and grab refreshments. Oh, and they had a pizza buffet that was open 24hrs! I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much pizza before! lol

If anything, I would love to go on a cruise again. Doesn’t matter where, just put me on a cruise liner! 🙂

Mmm yes, I understand what you mean. The only Disney park I’ve been to was Tokyo Disney Land, and I’d like to visit there again someday if possible – or any other Disney park around the world I guess (they’re probably very similar)! ^o^

There were also some other places I visited in Japan that I’d love to re-visit; most notably Meiji Mura – a park with lots of genuine old Meiji-era buildings all brought together in one place. Meiji was my favorite part of Japanese history…

Oh man! I would LOVE to visit Japan! What’s Disney like in Japan anyway? Is it all Disney or do they mix cultural Japan in with it.
