Most might have heard about this one already.
Passage
It’s art in game form really. Well, I think it is.
It’s a game that looks at life, love, age and then death. It’s short (about 5 min) so it won’t take up much of your time. When you start to play you’ll probably wonder what the hell you’re supposed to do. My suggestion is to explore. I walked the straight line when I first started not realizing that I can move lower in to the game world. Once the game really progresses you’ll begin to see what’s really happening and see what the future hold for you as you play.
Once you’re done you can read the creator’s statement as to why he made such and game and what it means to him. Brilliant.
This is the kind of game that I love. It’s thought provoking and created with love and passion for the medium. Not just to be a game but an interactive point of view.
I very much enjoyed this one. It’s a moving game and can honestly say that I wept a bit at the end.

Some poor shmoe out there (named Joe Randel) has opened up a blog and stolen the domain name joerandel.com, not the I had my eyes on it or anything. What would I honestly do with my own domain name anyway. No one would travel there and see my crap work. Woo! TANGENT! Anyway, I found this blog last night when I was doing some ego surfing seeing who has linked to my site/art piles. There really isn’t much there except a post from Dec 17/07, some family pics and a Google map of some place I’ve never been to. That’s it. That’s all.
After I found Joe’s blog I thought, “this poor guy has no idea that there is someone out there using his name to push smutty toon porn on to the internets.” I wonder if he gets email or anything from people asking him to draw more Fawn Deer with her ass full of spooge or a Chipette gokkun pic. If he does I’m sure it freaks him the hell out. ^_^ Poor guy. The funny part is, Joe Randel isn’t even my real name. It’s an altered/rearranged version of my real name that I decided to use when I started this gig. Man oh man… poor Joe. ^_^
So right here and now I’m going out to say to my fellow perverts that this joerandel.com blog is not mine. Please don’t bother the owner no matter how funny I think it maybe. I’d also like to extend an apology to Joe Randel for any uncomfortable emails he might have received due to this mix up. Finally I think the best solution for this is for one of us to change their name.
You first ^_^

Well, it would seem that doing those doodles earlier in the week really helped to get the juices flowing. Before I knew it I took that kitty girl doodle, worked it over and ended up redesigning one of my characters. Kay was in need of a work over as I was never really happy with her look. I even went crazy and messed with line colour too. Plus I found some pencil brushes for Photoshop last week. See I really missed the rough look of actual graphite on paper and I was never able to make a brush I was happy with that mimicked a pencil well enough. But I found some and they’re great. I actually used it in Kay’s lines, which I kept rough because I love rough line work. ^_^
After this I did a couple of sketches for a commission and even started a little clean up (with the pencil brushes) on the bondage bunny folio just for kicks. Who knows what this will lead to ^_^
Oh and as promised here’s a collection of sexy Sky Girl screen caps. ^_^

Okay, so I’ve finished watching the whole series and I’d have to say that I did enjoy it. I don’t think it’s the best anime out there (that title belongs to FLCL) but it’s a good watch.
It did take a while for things to build up but after getting to the end I thought it all wrapped up nicely. I didn’t feel like it was dragging on and I wasn’t praying for the end to come quicker as I watched which is good (unlike Half LIfe 2 where I couldn’t wait for it to end). The show can be predictable in parts but it never really bothered me, probably because I was busy watching for bum shots ^_^ Maybe I’ll take a bunch of screen caps of the “fan service” for a future post so people can see what I mean (it’ll have to be tomorrow’s post as my lap top is dying). And please don’t go thinking this is a smutty show (I watched it at work after all) but there are scenes where the girls are talking about things in the bath/shower area or we see them semi getting changed or they animators threw in a sexy body angle for the hell of it. Meh… it keeps things going and I’m not complaining. ^_^
After the show was done I did go on a hunt for figures just to see what they have. There are some poseable ones out and I think they come with the Sonic Diver mech suit too. But I’ll pass as I can see myself dropping money on one, but they’re nice to look at. I also went on a search for more art from the main designer too, plus some naughty dojin (which I found two of with nice pencil art ^_^).
On a side note, my favorite character in the show is Nanae Fujieda, she collects the Sonic Diver data on the ship. She’s mousey, shy, cute and has big bewbs ^_^
So yeah, at the end, I guess I could say I liked it. ^_^

Normally I try and do some Japanese studying on the bus ride home. Ether some more lessons or some character reading practice. I still have a long way to go and to be honest I fell off the wagon for over a month just after Christmas. But I’m getting back on track. ^_^ I’ve still got a long way to go but I’m sticking to it. I need to start doing it at lunch though. Maybe find a nice quiet place where I can actually speak along with the lessons since I don’t have some one to speak with.
Anyway, this post isn’t about Japanese stuffs. It’s about how I decided to doodle on the bus instead of a lesson. I don’t doodle that much to be honest. Not having a lot of time will do that to a guy and yet that’s a bad excuse. Drawing and art is my career and I should doodle to keep my ideas active and just for myself too other wise I’ll just bog myself down with work art.
So I take out my tablet and start to doodle and I actually got some things that I liked (usually I don’t care for my doodles). I didn’t do much since my bus ride isn’t that long but I was able to get some fun ideas down that might turn out to be finished pieces.
It’s strange that it takes a little bit of doodling to get the ideas flowing, especially since I do this all day long. I just don’t do it for myself that often. ^_^
Now I just need to find a good place to doodle smutty things. Do you think that people would mind on the bus? ^_^

I hate daylight savings. I generally bitch to anyone with in ear shot about it too.
grumble, grumble…
So this morning I slept in… guess why. I went 30 whole min past when I usually get up. That means I kept hitting my snooze for 30 min or I let it go off continuously for 30 min. Which ever was the case I got up, threw the dog out side for a piss, filled his bowl with food, got in and had the quickest shower ever in the history of showers tossed my lunch in my bag and ran out the door. Now I knew that I had missed my bus but I have a back up. See my bus picks me up and then tours the suburbs and the doubles back and passes my house again about 2 blocks away. I can catch it there is I miss it. There was still a chance I could get it if I run.
Who the hell am I kidding… there’s no way I can run two blocks in 5 min.
dang it.
I quickly needed a back up for my back up. I knew a bus passed me my house in opposite direction in a few min and that it went to a big mall a few blocks from my house. Malls are usually bus hubs so if I can make it there I can catch a direct route up the main drag to work. I ran to a stop and ALMOST missed that bus. If I did I would have been screwed. I got to the mall and asked the driver when the next 13 goes downtown. He said that was him and he’d be leaving in 10 min. Sweet! I sat my ass down, took out my laptop, found wireless connection and surfed a bit until the driver came back and I was on my way. I even got in to work only 20 min later then I usually do and still way ahead of most people.
So now I have a back up bus for my back up bus.
In your face daylight savings!
