mega man goodness – post 168

Who loves Mega Man?

I do ^_^

So with this post I’ve found a number of links to all things Mega Man. Yay!

First is a clip for the opening of Mega Man 9. It’s all kinds of classic 8 bit goodness and makes me smile every time I watch it. And I love the Chun-Li cameo too. She’s too cute in Mega Man style ^_^

Next are a bunch of clips from Mega Man 9 where the music and sounds where swapped out for human voices.

clip2
clip3
clip4

clip6

Yes… I’ve watched them all. ^_^

A music video about not being able to defeat Air Man. It’s in Japanese so here it is also in English.

Finally… some guy has put lyrics to the theme tune of Mega Man 3… AND I CAN”T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

That is all…

no naughty DS homebrew for you – post 167

Well it would seem that the wall has come down on that naughty tentacle homebrew DS game that I mentioned a while back.

The Comic Market preparation committee has canceled Team-DSX’s registration so that means that they will not be able to sell it at this years Comiket.  Boo!

Nintendo has actually taken legal action against the R4 (a flash cart used for DS homebrew) due to piracy issues in Japan.  One has to wonder if Comiket made this decision on their own or if Big N strong Armed them in to it.  Looks like the web site for the game is also down so it might not even be sold in Akihabara as originally planned as well.

I doubt this is the last we’ll see of it though.  There is always the interent distribution… and torrents.  ^_^

dome home – post 165

If you don’t know by now, I’m a very eco friendly person.  I do all I can to help with the environment in my everyday life.  I’ve bought all energy saving appliances and recently had our furnace and AC up graded to energy saving models as well.  Proper windows, shingles and even flapperless toilets.  Well, I found a house that fits my way of life.  I showed it to my wife and she loves it too.  It’s houses made out of polystyrene.  Isn’t that cool? ^_^

Not only is it a house made out of expanded polystyrene, but it’s in the shape of a dome and can be constructed in about 3 hours and pieces can be carried by 3 people.  How awesome is that?  You can mix and match the sections to make just about any layout you want.  On top of all this, there is little waste in making the dome houses and they’re super energy efficient to heat and cool.  And the basic models start at $30,000.

Looking at them you might think they not that spacious but really, how much space to we need.  The more space you have the more you’ll just fill it up with things we don’t really need.

I’m digging it.  My wife and I agree that if we could buy up some land and have this built there then we would to it.  Maybe some time in the future we’ll be able to since it doesn’t look like this is an international thing and more of a Japan only concept.

But man, I’m so on board with these houses.  What do you think?

lando – post 163

So the other day I was digging out our composter and I found a Lando Calrissian action figure.  What a strange thing to find I thought.  Some kid lost this and might have been sad to have never seen it again.  Or maybe a sibling hid it in order to get revenge for something.  But what really sparked in my head was toys that I’ve lost when I was younger.

I kept my toys in excellent condition and always made sure I got them all back and in order when I was playing with them.  But some did escape me.  I remember I was in a park one day, I was about 4, and I was playing on the top of a slide with my Dukes of Hazard toy cars.  My Boss Hog car went over the edge and fell to the ground.  I went to go get it but I couldn’t find it.  I couldn’t under stand how it could have disappeared and I searched that grass for a long time before I gave up.  Another time I lost the plastic rider of a motorbike over the edge of a pier one summer.  It was too deep to get it although my older cousins did try for me.  That bike with remain riderless for the rest of it’s days…

Did you lose any toys during your childhood?  Did you ever get any of those toys back?

Note – I’ll be gone until Sunday so no posts till then ^_^
