11/7/09 - Familiar Face

Makin' it More Convoluted...

We really don't know who is a local and who isn't; it is never really mentioned anywhere I can find. We do know that Sarina and Manila moved into the neighborhood when Sarina was 4 (Manila's bio), but that doesn't mean they moved in from out of town. All of the cast could be locals.

I was pretty set on the idea that Alexia was on a date at this time with Pretty Boy from the Paint-ball range until Protoon1 mentioned the possibility that Alexia was getting Pretty Boy's name & number for Rod. It appears Alexia does think Rod is gay (http://catsncameras.com/cnc/?p=61 , fourth panel). Even with that nice twist (thanks, Pro... grrrr!) I'm still sticking to my guns that it is someone new to the cast.

We do know that the mystery dancer is a local girl as the announcer refers to her as a "homegrown flower" and her stage name is Honey-Bea. I went back over all the the comics looking for a hint as to who might be a local with an interest in flowers, you know how V and Chee like to hide Easter Eggs in the comics, but other than the possible bee costume on the dress mannequin at Thisisa's place I came up with nothing. Of course, I could have missed it...

Where are those darn kids and that stupid dog when you need them...

Oh, I forgot that, and that just might remove Alexia from the list as well, though we don't know where she grew up....
Well, now an old girlfriend or one of Rods sisters could be quite plausible to. This is a most intriguing quest for the surprising truth.

Does one of Rods sisters by any chance work part-time at a flowershop while taking a law degree?

That would have caused me to laugh rather loudly... Just think of all the new theories we junior sleuths could come up with if you drop just the right hints and with an extra week to ponder the identity of the Mystery Dancer.


However, if you deem it appropriate to reveal the Mystery Dancer this Caturday, so be it.

Not much longer to wait now; I will give this much away - mystery dancer is definitely revealed this weekend.: )

Okay let's try the Sherlock Holmes-method.
What do we know for a fact?

- Jo and Sari are having a girls night watching movies etc. so it can't any of them at the strip club.
- We haven't seen Rods sisters yet so we don't know if it could be them.
- Rods mum were at home last we saw her.
- We don't know where the other mums are or what they are doing.

- Rod had tickets for the "Jouney of Wings"-movie, with advanced screening that saturday. He wanted to invite Alexia because he remembered that she "don't normally do anythings on saturdays". She can't go 'cause "she has a date that night".

- Thisisa takes the tickets, so she might be watching the movie with her husband (remeber she's happily married), so even though she has a bee-costume, she's is not the one using it (at least not that saturday).

So we have accounted for Rods mum, Jo, Sari and Thisisa.
That leaves us with Rods sisters, Jos mum, Thisisas mum, Saris mum and Alexia

If Thisisa has made the bee-costume, I don't think it would be for either her own, Jos or Saris mum. She would probably feel wierd making it for one of Rods sisters as well. So I'd count all of them out of the equation.

That leaves Alexia or someone completely else.

Alexia could be on a date as she claims, at least she got a note (maybe phonenumber) from the guy at the paintball-place http://catsncameras.com/cnc/?p=151.
Though she might just be trying to get Rod a date

Okay it's not even close to a classic Holmes-deduction (would have to use way more words, and sharper facts), but I bet my non-excisting pride and good reputation that it's Alexia

Maybe so.. but Thisisa is the only one that appears to have a Bee costume in her home, who's skirt kinda looks like the edge of the one we see in the strip club.:P

Course that could just mean she made the costume, not that she's wearing it... or that could just be a complete coincidence... I guess we'll have to wait to know for sure.
