Artist Buddies

One thing I don’t seem to have is artist friends.  Oh, I have friends that are artists.  I know Max Balck Rabbit and GNAW.  I’ve talked with Eric S., Dadward, Jive Guru and Andy Bunny a few times as well as some others.  But I don’t have any art buddies in the naughty art fandom that I talk to on a regular basis and maybe trade art with back and forth or run ideas through each other.  Do other artists have artists buddies?  I generally think that they do.  That they’ve hooked up with someone else they admire or of equal skill and born a new friendship.  I don’t have that.  I’m pretty much a loner.  I have been in a lot of my life.  Oh, I have friends, but I don’t have friends that I go and hang out with.  Well, that’s not totally true.  My Wife is my best friend and we do everything together.  But I don’t have an artist buddy, and you know what.  If I where to get one now… I’m not sure I would know what to do with him/her. o_O

Chipmunks 3

So during my holidays I got to take in a movie.  Things I watch have to be family friendly (unless it’s a date night with Wife) so as a New Years Eve treat, we took the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.  I know, I know… many have voiced their dislike of the CG designs of the 80’s cartoon we grew up with (I’m assuming that you are all with in the same age as I am), and I agree… mostly.  I do like the designs of the main characters.  I think they did a good job of making them actual chipmunks unlike the cartoon where they were… I’m not really sure.  What I don’t care for is the Chipette CG designs.  They just look out of proportion to me.  Especially Elenore, her head is HUGE!  Brittany was okay and Jeanette just looked odd.

The other thing I found strange is the sexuality that they put in to the Chipettes.  The sexy dancing and the scene where they come out all in towels that don’t quite go to the bottom (the below picture isn’t the best sample but the best I could find).  I don’t remember them putting that in to the cartoon… but it has been a while.  I might have to check that out again.

Over all, the movie was just okay and pretty much what you’d expect from a Chipmunk flick.  The kids liked it and that’s what matters.  Did you take in a movie on during the holidays?

First post of the year!

So, I wanted to start off doing another post a day venture for 2012. Well here it is the 2nd of January and I’ve already missed the mark.  Actually, I just got back from visiting family yesterday so I do have an excuse.  I’ve also decided to become more exclusive to my blog area.  I’ll still post from time to time on FurAffinity and the other art piles I have around the net, but for the most part, things will be here.  I was also thinking about doing a doodle a day for a year.  But who am I kidding, there’s no way I could pull that off.  I will try to post more rough drawings though as I attempt to make posts for a whole year.

So… how did the holidays go for everyone?  I think they went okay for me.  I got some stuff, did some traveling to visit family.  You know… the holidays.  One of my kids ended up getting a slight stomach bug during Christmas though.  Threw up a whole bunch in the middle of the night, because that’s when kids do all their puking.  Other then that, it was a fine week off of work.  Anyone else throw up during Christmas break?

To all those that celebrate this time of the year, wishing you and your family the best New Year and a Happy Holiday. ^_^

It's Movember people!

That means men all over are going to grow mustaches and raise as much money as they can for prostate cancer.  I’ve thrown my hat in to the ring this time too.  Now, my family doesn’t have a history of prostate cancer, but I know there are lots of others that do.  Together we can help out.  If you wish to donate some money for the fight against prostate cancer, please follow the link to my Mo Space page and make a donation.

In fact if you do, I might pull a name out and someone could win a free commission.  It’s the least I can do to say thanks. ^_^
