tag – post 158

So it would seem that I’ve been “tagged” for one of those question and answer games that travel around the DA and other such places.  Since I have nothing of real interest to post about I figured… why not.

Rules of the game:
– Choose a singer/band/group
– Answer using ONLY titles of songs by that singer/band/group
– Tag 6 more people (let them know they’ve been tagged)
I chose: Blue Rodeo

1. Are you male or female?
Nice Try

2. Describe yourself.
I Could Never Be That Man

3. What do people feel when they’re around you?
Lost Together

4. How would you describe your previous relationship?
Bad Timing

5. Describe your current relationship.
Head Over Heels

6. Where would you want to be now?
Montreal

7. How do you feel about love?
Trust Yourself

8. What’s your life like?
Rose-Coloured Glasses

9. What would you ask for if you had only one wish?
5 Days in May

10. Say something wise.
Try

And done…  but I’m not tagging people. ^_^

No Soul Caliber for you… – post 157

Okay… this totally made me smile when I found this out.  Apparently in Japan they have sexy type English leaning games.  I wrote about it here.  Well, it would appear that this game has a lower age rating then Soul Caliber IV.  In Japan, the CERO (Computer Entertainment Rating Organization) rating for SCIV is “C” which is for 15 and up, but Moe Sta is rated a “B” which is good for 12 and up.

What makes this all the more amusing is that the ad for Moe Sta features one of the characters in the game nude but covered.

Wow… I wish they had language tools like this when I was 12.  I’d probably know 8 different dialects by now.  ^_^

So there you have it… in Japan (and most places in the world I think) violence gets a higher age rating then sexy.  Damn you North America!

shakes fist~

12 year old – “Mommy, can I have Soul Caliber IV for my birthday…?”
Mother – “No… but you can get Moe Sta instead.”
12 year old – “…sweet…”

Joe's favorites: Ameican Gods – post 156

Wanna know what my favorite book is?

American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

Neil Gaiman is actually my favorite writer.  Actually, he’s pretty much the only writer I follow and watch for in the book shops.  I’ve read a lot of what he’s done.  The Sandman series, Neverwhere, Fragile Things, Coraline, The Day I Swapped my Dad for Two Goldfish… but the top of my list is for sure American Gods.

The books follows a man named Shadow just after he’s released from prison.  He ends up encountering a shifty old man named Wednesday and soon after meets, and gets involved with all manner of characters that he wouldn’t have though possible.

This story felt like it was made for me and I found that I completely got lost in the world in those pages.  I believed in each of the characters I read about and loved all the imagery that was described.  The hall of the gods sounds like a fantastic place to get lost in.

It’s hard to talk about this book with out giving away what going on in it, but trust me… this book is fantastic.

Has anyone else read this book or have an author that they follow?

bubbles – post 155

Here is something that I’ve known for some time now.  Bubbles + kids = happy.  It’s probably one of the simplest equations out there, as I can’t think of any time I’ve ever blown bubbles with kids and not got smiles in return.

Bubbles make kids happy.

I got thinking about this as I was blowing bubbles with my own kids this past weekend.  Bubbles are such a simple thing and yet can hold so much fun.  Think about it, when was the last time you got as excited and had as much fun with something as simple as bubbles.  We as adults lose that innocent look at things and we buy things to make use feel good rather then just enjoying simple pleasures.  Well… most of us do.  I’m in that boat.  I won’t deny it.

So maybe we should all go out and get or make some bubbles and try to understand what it’s like to enjoy simple things again.  We might discover something that was lost to us ever so long ago.

answer period – post 154

Okay, so lets go down the list.

Aelius24 asks:  Hmm… I was curious… what have some of your characters been up too lately? (Monique, Gwen, Namir, etc.)

Well, I really haven’t done much with any of them really.  If any of them have gotten my attention it would be Gwen as I have a folio in the works for her… It’s been in the works for a while actually.  But one some day I’ll get it done.

TheGreatZarquon asks:  I’ve a question, if you don’t mind it- do you have any tattoos?

Nope, can’t say that I do.  Never had, or understood, the desire to get one.  That’s not to say I look down on people that have them.  I’ve seen tattoos that look very cool or sexy.  I guess they’re just not for me.

operative274 asks:  Hmmm… What drew you to the smut side of anthro, sir?

Well, a long time ago, back when I was around 13.  I decided that waiting to turn 18 was too long to buy porn so I decided to draw my own.  I started with naughty pictures of Betty and Veronica but I then experimented with Tiny Toons, Rescue Rangers and Tail Spin.  I found that I could make them look really cute and it was just more appealing then BnV.

Fast forward to college and the discovery of the internet.  I wasn’t looking for anthro smut really.  I just like cartoon smut in general.  But I found that most of what was out there was pretty low quality.  Well, at least in my eyes.  TDK, Jeremy Bernal and JAB where my faves at the time.  I then told myself “I can draw this stuff”.  And so I decided to draw what I liked in my younger days only at a much higher quality.

The crazy thing is, dawing and painting smut has really improved my art skills in a pretty short amount of time.  Although I’m sure drawing in general would have done that.

The short answer… I draw it cuze I like it. ^_^

Tiquitoc asks:  Will you update the gallery section in you site on Jabarchives?

Yeah… I gotta get on that soon.  Truth be told, I want to update the gallery.  I want to get a plug in for wordpress and make it much easier for me to put something up.  But until then I need to install Dreamweaver or that GoLive program so I can actually update that gallery.  Sigh… someday.  Most days by the time I get to sit down, I’m so beat that I just veg out on the couch.

Welp, that looks to be it for now.  Thanks for the questions… till next time I’m stumped on a post topic. ^_^
