Apparently that witch touching game that I keep mentioning goes on sale later this month, and that means it’s time to roll out the promotional swag.
SNK Playmore is releasing sexy/cute collectible phone cards to keep the fans at bay till it hits the shelves. All I have to say is… I’ve bought phone cards before and they sure as hell didn’t look like this.
I actually get really jealous of stuff like this. Well, not this specifically, but all the fun promo game art, swag and stuff that gets released in Japan. We don’t see any of this really. Maybe if you preorder you’ll get something and we do get the odd game art book but really… mostly we get game guides. Before the internets that was pretty much the only way to get extra official art of your favorite game. I really wish I could walk up to a capsule machine and have the option of getting some cool game figures rather then the zillionth series of Whinny the Pooh dressed as an eggplant.
Sigh…
I actually have the Mega Man Zero complete art book, FFIIX art book and two little figures from Garou: Mark of the Wolves (Bonne Jenet and Hotaru Futaba), so I shouldn’t complain I guess.
Do you have any extra official game figures or art in you home?

This August, in Switzerland, the worlds largest super collider or atom-smasher will be switched on. What the hell is an atom-smasher? It’s a device that takes particles and speeds them up to as close to the speed of light and then collide it with an atom to see the insides of it. Pretty cool eh? Well, what if this super collider brought about THE END OF THE WORLD!
Some in the scientific community, and the world, believe that this new atom-smasher, which is about seven times more powerful then the current one, could create a black hole that would consume the world. Pretty damn scary eh? There is even a court order going on in Hawaii that is trying to block the start up until more research has been put in to it as “the Collider may have unintended consequences which could ultimately result in the destruction of our planet.” Wow…
The other side says that’s not possible. The smasher is going to be doing collisions that happen everyday due to cosmic rays that have hitting the earth for… oh… the last 4 billion years.
Regardless what happens, the smasher is expected to make discoveries in to Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Even it’s surmised that it could find extra dimensions in space as it looks for vibrating strings that make up the building blocks of our whole universe. But are all these discoveries worth it if we’re putting the very existence of our planet at risk? To me, it’s seriously scary. If it happens will we even know before it’s too late or will it just be over and done with?
Just because we can doesn’t mean that we should. Scary, scary stuff…
Oh, and Chrono Trigger is coming to DS.
YEAH BABY!

So Canada turned 141 today.
Woo! You go girl… you don’t look a day over 75.
Rock on! I love Canada. I love our music and tv shows. We buy as much as we can from local markets to support the area and I really love sharing Canadian foods with anyone that I can. I just love Canada! I mean, we’re not perfect but we’re pretty damn good I think. So if you’re one of the crowd that celebrated Canada Day today, what did you do?
I didn’t do anything much. Spent time at home with the family and did family things. Played with the kids to let my wife get some long needed gardening done. That’s really it. Just took it easy and let nothing bother me. Even though I know I have an unfinished bathroom in my basement, I just let it go today. No need to stress out over these things.
I did though have a very nice Canada Day, red and white lunch. My wife made up some french toast and we slathered it with cherry pie (the red) filling and whip cream (the white). Oh yeah. I’d probably my favorite fun at home meal, although I usually over do it. I have three pieces and man… by the end of this third one… Well, I guess I should be lucky that I didn’t become diabetic or go blind or something. Man, did I feel gross after that… but it’s just so damn tasty.
No fireworks watching though. Kids are still too young for that yet. No that it bothers me or anything. I’m good to just stay at home and relax some more.
Ahhhh…
Go Canada…
