Every other Friday at work the whole studio get together and plays a game. It might be a video game… it might be a board game or trivia. Other then the planners of it no one knows until that day. The winner gets to pick a video game of their choice.
This past Friday we played Rock band.
Now my time with Guitar Hero equals about an hour at the most so I knew I was in trouble. I mean to pick it up but I just don’t have the time. So playing an interment would be rough… but singing would be scary… especially in front of your whole studio. Sure enough I was asked to do vocals and, because I knew I could read the lyrics better then I could play something in the game I agreed. Man… I could feel my heard pounding and I’m sure others could hear it.
We looked over the song list. I knew most of them, but not well enough to really know the lyrics. I figured if I’m going to sing I want to know the song well. We soon all agreed that Enter Sandman by Metallica would be a good selection. Sweet! I used to rock out to that in High School. Our turn came up and we got ready and did our thing. As I started I got less and less nervous. I mean, it’s understandable to be nervous but I work with these people, we’re not going to put each other down and then kick each other. It takes guts to get up and sing in front of everyone and I think everyone knew that. Besides, I gave conference to about 100 people at a game summit a few years ago so I shouldn’t have been nervous at all looking back now.
It went very well and I had lots of fun and people where commenting on my nice gravely voice as I sung my best Hetfield. We failed our song… drummers fault ^_^ but we all had a great time and that’s was counts.
I can see the draw to Rock Band after just that one time. If I had more friends to play with I would probably pick it up.

Holy crap!
I made it to 100 posts! I never really thought I’d make it this far. I totally thought I’d grow tired of this and just say “piss on it”… but here I am at post 100.
I was going to do a sort of scavenger hunt at this point but I think I’ll save that for the half way point. I think that will be around 183. So until then… WOO FOR 100 POSTS!!!
Now I’m crazy ass tired and going to bed…
night ^_^

I remember a while back saying something like South Park doesn’t hold a candle to classic cartoons. I do still believe that, but I’ve since decided to go back and check out the show again. I mean, it’s up to season 12 so there must be something to it right?
Well, I stand before you and can admit that I didn’t give the show as much credit as it deserves. The controversial topics that it brings up is unbelievable. Gay rights, disabled characters, religion, sexuality, global warming, stem cell research… the list goes on. So much more then what most shows are willing to tackle. Plus all the pop culture references and quality the writers have for pointing out obvious stupidities in the media and culture over all is just great. There is even episodes based off literary works like Great Expectations and even some Shakespeare too. I really am enjoying this show.
I just assumed that it was all toilet humour to be honest… well.. there is a lot of that. But it seems to balance all the serious topics that it covers from time to time.
I’m watching all the shows while I work on the comedy network player… which has all the episodes up to the current season. I’m up to season 6 now and the show really seems to be holding it up. It’s no Duck Amuck… but it’s good.
I even wept a bit on the episode where Kenny died.

Well, In Japan it might.
Yup, it would seem that Japanese Democratic Party is looking to place a ban on adult games and anime stating that “people who enjoy these forms of media have lost their sense of humanity and leads to killings of young girls.”
o_O
Really? Gosh… that’s news I’ve yet to hear. If that where true, well then the amount of people in Japan + the number of adult games and anime should equal on empty continent. I mean… you just have to turn your head over there and there is a sexy anime chick on some sort of product it would seem. Heck, they even have Moetan teaching people English in a DS game.
So it’s not just North America that’s all anti sex in games. It does seem to be an issue over in Japan too. I can’t see it leading to more violent sex crimes though. If anything I can see it bringing things down as people are staying in to play their eroge games… and maybe only getting violent if there are no seeders for a specific title on Bit Torrent.

This equation can equal so many different things depending on who you are. Me? I like my sex and my video games and I have no problems with the two mingling. I think it’s healthy but I also believe in a proper time and place. Which is why I like this clip that I found today. It’s about sex and video games and the squeaky sounding man that made it makes excellent points. Points that I’ve talked about with people for years.
It’s quite good in my opinion. Have a look see for yourself.

What did you have for supper?
Me? I had a bison burger with a “meat first” bun, which is like a really thin bun so you get more meat then bread. Some baked organic onion rings and some baked organic wedge fries ( I can’t remember the seasoning) and some peas and carrots. Oh, and a glass of orange juice.
Tasty.
