Anyone know of that DS witch touching game by SNK last year? It was called Doki Doki Majo Shinpan? You had to investigate who was a possible witch in your school and the only way of doing that way by touching them (obviously) and you could even touch their boobies… O_O Their was no nudity in the game but the character designs where uber cute in my books. Although lots of people (mostly North Americans) where all “that’s discusting!” and “you can’t make that in to a game! Perverts!!” and so forth. But the game came out (Japan only) and tons of people bought it (I still need to pick it up).
A year later and the perverts have spoken.
It looks like boob touching never gets old ^_^. It was pretty obvious that this was going to happen, I mean the first one bumped Zelda DS off the no1 spot on Amazon’s pre-order list. I so need to pick these up, or at least a DS flash cart so I download and play it. I mean I’m not learning Japanese for nothing ya know ^_^
The some of the new characters seem to be some twins, a demon chick, and a sword wielding redhead. Hot stuff. ^_^
Even though I never played the first one I’m looking forward to seeing this one as it develops.
Oh, and on a related note Penny Arcade did a comic about the first one when it was announced.
Gabe, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Artists Edit – I’ll being going away for the long weekend and there’s no internet back home out in the sticks. So no posts for Thursday, Friday, Saturday… I’ll see what I can do for Sunday. Now the debate of making up those missed days or just letting them slide.
I’ll have to ponder this a bit.
Have a good weekend everyone.
^_^

The other day I had the urge to watch some Loony Toons/Merrie Melodies. So I wander over to You Tube and watch one of my favorite cartoons.
Duck Amuck
For those that haven’t seen Duck Amuck, it’s probably the best example of a deconstructed cartoon you’ll find. It strips away everything that makes up a short, even the character, and asks things like… is the character retain his personality even though he/she has nothing to interact with? What if they don’t look like them self or sound like them self. Are they still who we expect them to be? But what’s most fascinating is that these questions where being asked back in 1951. I think it’s awesome that Chuck Jones loved his medium so much that he fully enveloped himself in every aspect of it to the point where he could strip it apart and discus each element of it. My hero.
I love this cartoon and had to write a short paper on it back in our animation writing class. Man that was awesome ^_^ I really enjoyed doing that presentation too.
I finished watching the short and then I began to think. All this was done in the 1950’s… are more serious/thought provoking animations being done today? Sure you have the Persepolis’s (which I have yet to see but really, really want to…) but I’m talking about the stuff that kids watch. Bugs Bunny and Daffy are recognized by kids and that’s what makes Duck Amuck that much more special. Kids where watching this cartoon analyzing it’s self and but it was presented in a way that the whole audience could enjoy. Brilliant! Even others like Wilie Coyote and his constant struggle of something he couldn’t have can be stripped down and analyzed of wants and needs with in the character.
What do kids have today that they can watch? Dora, Little Bear, Franklin the Turtle, Timothy goes to school, Teen Titans, South Park. Maybe I’m just jaded but I just don’t think that these cartoons can hold a candle to what I grew up with. Now that’s not to say they’re not entertaining, but I think that they really do lack the depth of the older ones.
clink, clink… (2 cents)

It’s the next installment of question and answer. Yay!
Gojr-Studios asked:Â What inspired you to draw? Why? (DA)
Answer: What inspired me to draw? Hmmm… well, my mother is an artist and just about everyone on her side can draw, paint or what have you. My father is a furniture maker (he makes repo primitive tables or harvest tables) with a great eye for details so I’ve always been artistic. It’s not like I eve just picked up a pencil and decided to draw. I just always knew that I could. Actually for a long time (I’d say between 8 and 13) I stopped drawing entirely. I just didn’t feel like it and I was too busy playing all the video games I could get my hands on ^_^ Then I started one day in my horny youth I decided to draw some Betty and Veronica smut. Just for kicks really. That led to Tiny Toon smut then to Rescue Rangers and so on. I had lots of fun drawing my favorite cartoons doing things that they shouldn’t be doing. More fun actually then when I drew regular art.
So I guess the proper answer to this question is, I was inspired to draw because I’m a pervert ^_^
Twin-Kamon asks:Â What’s your favorite subject to draw and why? (DA)
Answer: Why toon smut of course ^_^ In all honesty I’m never really sure what to draw my own characters doing but I love drawing popular toons (or even others characters) doing naughty things. Why? It’s just so much fun… and a bit taboo as well I suppose. Cartoons over here are generally viewed as stuff for kids so it’s like saying that not true when I draw something dirty. Especially when you consider that when there’s a female character in a cartoon she’s usually designed to be sexy. So why not take that and run with it. And boy do I run ^_^ cuze I love to draw them super messy and sticky. The messier the better too in my books.
Rick2Tails:Â You have any problems with people posting old commissions you did to FA?
Answer: I have no problems with that at all. I actually have some scans of drawings I did for peoples sketch books a while ago and I would love to post them, but I’m not sure if that’s cool or not.
Canius & Snistrtaz both asked:Â Did anyone ask about commissions?
Answer: Some people do ask about commissions. I’m currently too busy right now but I might take some up in the future. Gotta feed that game habit of mine ^_^ Why? Who all is wondering?
Well I think that’s it for Q&A this time. Any new questions?

One of my favorites artists is Miu
I remember a long time ago going to AnthoCon one year and picking up a copy of Genus comic and in it was there that I saw a story about Peaches and Cream and a rubber duck. It was so fun and cute and laid out so professionally. I was immediately hooked on the artists work. Years later, I can honestly say that I’ve never been as big a fanboy as I am for Miu and his art. I seem to love just about everything he puts out and the techniques he uses in his pieces. If I’m drawing something and I need inspiration or I’m looking to see how another artist tackled such a theme/topic I always go to Miu’s art first. The colour, the designs, the layout, the poses EVERYTHING! I love it! It’s probably the best example of what I would like my own art to be like or what I push for.
Miu’s art always looks so fun and colourful and the characters look so cute and playful and… squishy! ^_^ It’s one of those things that I pick out of my most favorite pieces… the squishiness. See, being brought up on cartoons I (and others too I can imagine) saw my favorite toons as being sort of soft to the touch. I guess I brought that over to my smut as that’s one of my most favorite aspects to play with along with pumping up the cute factor. I don’t get my characters as soft (or as cute) as I’d like to but Miu seems to have it bang on. Plus mix that up with some anime influence mashed up with his own unique art-fu and you get some of the best toon works out there in my opinion.
Even his gay and herm pics are super cute! o_O I’m not in to dudes or anything but… I will stand here and say I think that Miu’s dude and herm pics are cute too.
There, I said it.
And now the shame portion of the post. I’ve only ever done one folio. You know, the one where the girls are sexy toon versions of various candy and sweets? Yeah that one. Well I had the idea in my head for a long time and only after I did it all up did I see that it was the same pretty much the same idea as Miu and his Peaches and Cream characters (only human and not furry). Sigh… So I’m stepping out and saying that I never meant to copy or ride coat tails and it’s because of that I’ve been reluctant to draw more candy/sweet girlies.
Oh the shame of it all!
At any rate, I still love Miu and his work and it’s a secret dream of mine to maybe work on an art project with him or maybe just an art trade…Â well…. I guess that’s not a secret any more is it ^_^
Some of my fave Miu pics (some of them… cuze pretty much everything is a fave )

Milk & Cookies: Private Time

Most might have heard about this one already.
Passage
It’s art in game form really. Well, I think it is.
It’s a game that looks at life, love, age and then death. It’s short (about 5 min) so it won’t take up much of your time. When you start to play you’ll probably wonder what the hell you’re supposed to do. My suggestion is to explore. I walked the straight line when I first started not realizing that I can move lower in to the game world. Once the game really progresses you’ll begin to see what’s really happening and see what the future hold for you as you play.
Once you’re done you can read the creator’s statement as to why he made such and game and what it means to him. Brilliant.
This is the kind of game that I love. It’s thought provoking and created with love and passion for the medium. Not just to be a game but an interactive point of view.
I very much enjoyed this one. It’s a moving game and can honestly say that I wept a bit at the end.

Some poor shmoe out there (named Joe Randel) has opened up a blog and stolen the domain name joerandel.com, not the I had my eyes on it or anything. What would I honestly do with my own domain name anyway. No one would travel there and see my crap work. Woo! TANGENT! Anyway, I found this blog last night when I was doing some ego surfing seeing who has linked to my site/art piles. There really isn’t much there except a post from Dec 17/07, some family pics and a Google map of some place I’ve never been to. That’s it. That’s all.
After I found Joe’s blog I thought, “this poor guy has no idea that there is someone out there using his name to push smutty toon porn on to the internets.” I wonder if he gets email or anything from people asking him to draw more Fawn Deer with her ass full of spooge or a Chipette gokkun pic. If he does I’m sure it freaks him the hell out. ^_^ Poor guy. The funny part is, Joe Randel isn’t even my real name. It’s an altered/rearranged version of my real name that I decided to use when I started this gig. Man oh man… poor Joe. ^_^
So right here and now I’m going out to say to my fellow perverts that this joerandel.com blog is not mine. Please don’t bother the owner no matter how funny I think it maybe. I’d also like to extend an apology to Joe Randel for any uncomfortable emails he might have received due to this mix up. Finally I think the best solution for this is for one of us to change their name.
You first ^_^
