Forum update: replies, editing, images, likes and badges
11 views · 0 replies
A batch of forum updates went live today. Short version:

Reply to a specific post — every post now has a Reply button. It quotes what you're answering and tags your reply as a response to it, so replies sit under what they're replying to and link back to it. Indenting stops after a couple of levels so long conversations stay readable on a phone.

Edit your own posts — threads and replies both. Edited posts show a small "edited" note, so nothing changes silently.

Post images directly — JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to four per post. No image host needed. Handy for works in progress, or for showing what you make before applying for a gallery.

See what's new at a glance — threads with posts you haven't read are highlighted and marked New, and the forum front page shows how many unread threads are in each area. It's tracked per account, so it follows you between devices.

Likes — a quick way to say "good post" without writing a reply. The author gets a notification.

Badges — profile badges now cover forum activity too: posts written, threads started, discussions that draw replies, likes given and received, plus bookmarks saved and artists followed. Your top badges show next to your name on posts. It's all worked out from what you've already done, so there's nothing to claim.

The full list is on the changelog page.

If anything looks wrong or behaves oddly, post in Site Support and I'll take a look.
