  • I could use a little help.....

hey, you may all know that i would deeply love to draw for this site and all you fans, but my artistic skills are.......lacking. of course i will mostly be drawing the female character, but im not too skilled at the female figure. would any of you members know of somewhere where i could learn how to do a varitey of poses, just to get the hang of it? or, possibly if one of the very talented artists here at jab forums could possibly instruct me a little into different poses so that i could get a hang of it? also, what do you guys use for coloring? possibly a program of some sort, because i know an awesome print wouldnt be done in marker or colored pencils . so if any of you could give me some possible advice, it would be greatly appreciated

you could invest in a wooden model, like the ones Randel has. They're very helpful for creating shapes and poses.

Joe has those Material Force models that are far more realistic than those wooden mannequins (I've been thinking about getting a couple of those myself). However, if you don't want to go through EBay and/or wait for the models to arrive, I've seen wooden mannequins at art stores for $15-20 (they're about a foot tall), they can be more or less expensive depending on how large or small you want.

if you have to learn different poses and not exactly proper anatomy, the internets are full of porn pics that may help you to find the most common poses used.
obviously if you need erotic content... aside that, the figures are a good way to see 3-D works and such.

hmm...porn is a good idea....anyway, i just got the model fig today, and i must say im dissapointed. its wooden, but the part that reall ticks me off is the legs, it doesnt allow me to separate them (for great poses.... ). yeah so, i dunno, ill try working more on the female figure a little more, because i would love to post some great (erotic, etc!!!) poses here

That's why I suggested the Material Force figures, because they're posable in almost any position. If you would like to see what I'm talking about, I posted a link to the thread that Joe Randel started when he got his.
