There are a lot of uncommon points in Middle-Eastern policies. Why...just a few days ago I read a news article about how some taliban (who still have influence in some areas) drug a guy out of his house...disemboweled him...then tied him to two motercycles before effectively tearing him in half and leaving the body as a warning sign.

What was his crime? He was teaching Algebra to girls.

Now really...I try my very best to be understanding of different cultures...but this is 2006. It's a very bad sign of a society IMO when you have to enforce the illiteracy and lack of knowledge in a large part of your population. If the idea of females knowing the FOIL method is going to make your God cranky...your god is a freaking pussy. That goes for any belief.
