  • Pussycats of the eighties

I don't consider myself as a fan of the 1980s.
Remember those horrible haircuts, those awful clothes? Some of you might do. BUT no matter how ridiculous those years were, I'm having kinda nostalgic feelings whenever i see an eighties video, or movie as I've spent most of my childhood at that time.
The two kitty on the pic are based on some old characters I used to draw back in high school. Some days ago I decided I revive those two, and started drawing. Then the idea came: "How would they look in eighties style?" And really liked how it turned out, even in those LOL outfits they look cute.
Some day I may start a "retro - porn" comic starring them...

    edit: updated pic.

            It's very nicely done.

You have an excellent sense of linework and composition...and your details are very crisp without being too over-bearing. I particularly like how you are able to use the black as a contrast and add extra depth...which is usually very difficult in art that doesn't use shading of some sort.

The outfits are very welldone and stylized so that they are easily identifyable to anyone who has experienced the 80's or 80's fashion. I remember trying to find a resource place to look for fashion like that and kept ending up null so I give you props...quadrupally so if that was done on improv. As well, the characters look unique and interesting.

If there was a critique, the only thing I can think of is the arms on the tan feline look a bit odd...but that might be due to the lack of details and simple-comparison to the rest. Odds are a few snap bracelets or something would resolve that...either way its a minor quibble.

Best of luck, and thanks for posting.

Thanks, I agree the arms look odd, to be honest, arms and legs of my characters were always my weakness. I will try to fix that with some other details I'm not happy with as well.

The 80's had some awesome music at least.
