It's Memorial Day, so it's time for me to come up with at least one or two female characters that fell in the line of duty. This year, I take a break from from the usual Gundam and Exosquad girls, and give you a MARVEL and a DC.
On the Marvel end, it's Edith Sawyer, a.k.a. U-Go-Girl from Michael "Madman" Allred's X-Force run. One of the main aspects of that run was that pretty much any of the new characters can get bodied. And even after several issues of being a staple character in the series, even Edith wasn't safe, as she was killed in a space mission.

On the DC end, it's Dee Tyler, Chuck Austin's version of the classic Phantom Lady character, which I haven't drawn in ages. She ran around in Action Comics for a while and would pop up (and pop out) every now and then...until SOMETHING-SOMETHING-CRISIS happened, and she had a broadsword jammed right between her breasts, courtesy of Deathstroke.
