  • nIght's Art: please critique

Ok, well first off i'd like to introduce myself. Hi, i'm nIght. (phew glad i got that over with) I wanted to post my art and maybe you guys can help me out. First off i'm having troule with my lines, they don't seem to be strait enough. Also my other problem i'm having is i'm terrible with proportion and can't really draw bodies yet (without looking at them that is). Please if you have any advice i'm listening

To tell you the truth i think they suck

Okay, I'm no artist, but I'd like to throw in my two cents here.

First, you seem to be able to draw people well. Your Raven pics are freakin' awesome! Personally, I can't wait for some of your hentai pics.

Second, your furry pics are very good. Not as good as your people ones, but still nice.

If I had to guess, you prefer people over furries. Only because it looks like you put more time and effort into Raven than your furry babe. One thing that relates to everything in life is have patience and do what you love to do.

Peace. And I look forward to more of your work.

i have to agree, the Raven pics are really well done. I think you captured her face extremely well as for the fury characters, hey, they looks fine to me

You draw a beautiful Raven. Have you ever considered posting your stuff on the titanshentai.com message board?

Bro, it still holds true. Your work is excellent. If these were your first colorings, then damn! And that touched up fox is damn fine!

Hope to see you draw more hentai pics, especially of Raven.

                  Peace.

Well, well, well... I REALLY like what I see here. You did a great job on the furry girl's boobehz! It looks like your work on bodies is greatly improving, great work! Looking forward to see more! (I'm in the same boat with you, as far as bodies go)

Okayy, hmm.... Objective glasses on. :P

Overall, pretty good. That's not proper critique, so i'll just point out a few things that I seem to observe.

•Shoulders: They seem to be rather wide-set, for the curvature of the waist, as Shoulders and Hips usually go more-or-less in-line with each other, and from the waist's curve at the bottom, it would appear to me that the hips 'would have been' a bit narrow in comparison to the shoulders.

•Arms: I can tell you've tried, in that pose, to make the arms go to an extent behind the body, but as they are the angle looks rather sharp for a 'regular' arm width. That, or the arms are rather thin.

•Face: Be careful when you do a face straight on like this. While faces closer to symmetry are supposed to be 'better looking', an exactly symettrical face (like, one side of the face mirror imaged to the other side) looks much more strange, and odd. One of the eyes (iris & pupil) on yours is smaller than on the other side, meaning you've avoided this somewhat; when there aren't many facial features, it can be hard not to have perfect symmetry.

Would someone more used to critiquing kindly critique my critique, so to speak? I am not an artist, and haven't critiqued art (properly) before, so... I am not used to noticing small quirks in art that oughta be mentioned.

No, that was actually very extremley helpful. Its always the small things, lol.

But seriously thanks for the critique, i know i kinda fucked up the lower body. Correction, totaly fucked up the lowr body. (actually thats kida funny ... ) The problem is that i'm not used to drawing the human structure, yet.

Your comment will make it easier to go back and fix those mistakes.

Here's something i've been working on. It's my first "full body" drawing, trying to work on proportion and all that jazz.

So please let me know what needs fixing.
