    hmm

    reminds me a bit of "history's strongest disciple Kenichi" ... looks influenced by it... other than that, keep up the practice... that's what math classes are for ;;

Wow, they do look really similar! Yet it was just ranom hair I put on her. As you can tell, the hair on my skecth looks flat. Also, you can't really tell if it is male or female (it was an attempt on a female). Personally I like the short-hair, tomboy, tough-girl look :P . As much of a failed attempt it is, I'm trying to get that look down.

      And yes... much practice.

More. The first one is Gwen from that new show, Ben 10 and the second one is also just another quick sketch, more of a "traditional" anime. But the problem i've been having is I keep making the subject look like they are looking in two different directions

          the first one

The picture looks like it should be 3/4ths view...but your eyes look like they are on a straight view angle

Other then that i like them

            Hey Night

I really hope you dont mind... I liked your drawing, and thought I could offer some advice to improve it. So I did a quick overlay drawing for you. Please feel free to tell me to STFU

I didnt change the pose, design, or any shapes because Im not farmilliar with the character.
All I did was look for the underlying structure in the figure you drew. I blocked out all the basic shapes, and intersected them in a way that made sense with the pose.
Things I tweaked were where the cheek meets the skull, aligning the eyes along that intersection, drawing the nose from the center, and filling out the meat on the back of the head. I also offered a solution for the eyeline, but there are many ways to solve that and this is only one.

okay, lecture over for today... Ill shut my yap-hole now.

Thank you Rick You are the man lol. You have no idea how helpful that is. The reason the pose and hand isn't accurate and what not, is because I haven't gotten a feel for basic shapes and I had no refrence for the pose either.

I hope you guys don't mind me asking, but where can I learn about basic shapes? Do I just try my hand at it myself or is there a book or sie i could pick up a few tips from?

Boy... get ready for a flood of links to tutorial sites...

Anywho... Rick's got some good pointers, but I like gravity DEFYING boobs. :P And what I think works is if you mirror, rotate and flip your pictures when they're done. It gives you a fresh look at your picture after staring at it while you're putting it together.

I like both images, but 00232sc_c.jpg better. Though, indeed, there's no basic shapes and help lines, which could have helped you finish it. *thumb up*

huh, i thought this thread was dead (don't mind the rhyme). I'd love to post more! ...except i haven't really been workin on anything new... The thing is I work mostly on traditional art and its hard for me to draw cartoons (sad yes).

But anyway, thanks for asking. I'd love to come up with some more drawings for you guys

Ok, it's not much, but here's a sketch of a character idea. I'm new to this so i'm just trying my hand at different emotions and what not.

The only thing I can say is, inking will do wonders, you're drawings themselves are fine. You're top-notch compared to the likes of me. I'lkl have to upload a pic of mine just for you some time.

Until then... /wants more Raven. =D

Alright, i'll work on some more raven. I guess... seeing that my other stuff is kinda weak. I just wish i was as good as these other guys on here. I still need to work on basic shapes, anatomy, and all that crap.
