Why Are Cartoons Sexy To You?

Why do we like naughty cartoons?  It’s sometimes strikes me as a bit odd.  Most people would just laugh thinking that it’s funny.  Some I’ve known are disgusted at seeing cartoon pron.  Others just question why anyone would want to look at it.  But there are those of us that really enjoy it and find that it fits with who we are and what we like perfectly.  But why?  Why do you like it?  What make is it so appealing to some of us?

Maybe because it’s something different.  Through cartoon porn, be it furry or regular, we can play in a world of things that are more exotic.  A place where these characters don’t have limits of what they won’t do and they’ll never, ever say no.  Furry porn, I think represent ideals of what sex might be like if it where much more “animalistic”, raw and unbound.  Parody cartoon porn takes us in to worlds that have already been created and thus seems taboo and desirable to put these characters in sexual situations.  But are we setting ourselves up for disappointment?  We’ll never be able to touch or even talk or be with these creations.  We can only take pleasure in the adventures we have in our heads or the pictures we find.  Thankfully there are artists that love it too so others can share in the fantasies they choose to draw.

Strange as it maybe, I know I love it.  I love my real porn too, but cartoon naughtiness will always stay true to my heart. I’ve drawn it since I was 12 with Betty and Veronica doodles and soon branched out to other Saturday morning cartoons.  I’ve always felt it’s been apart of my sexuality and it always makes me happy to know that erotic art has been a part of history and other cultures for centuries.  But I feel that we now live in a  time when drawings/cartoons are viewed as a youth medium, so having anything erotic and illustrated is met with some sort of push back and viewed as weird.  Even though most cartoon characters are designed to be attractive and have visual traits that can be seen as sexy in a real person.

Cartoons are sexy damn it!  For me, they’re just plain fun to draw.  I have more fun drawing porn then just about anything else.  It’s as escape where sex has no bounds and anything can… and does happen.  I love it and I refuse to live in a world with out cartoon sex. ^_^

I really can’t say to be honest…. I’ve thought about this myself for years, but I can’t put my finger on it.

But it makes me happy! So why question it?

I guess it’s just a certain fantasy element that reality just can’t provide. Yet. 😛

It’s not so much that it’s cartoon porn, but applicable to just about any form of fictional porn; that is, practically anything that doesn’t involve photos or video of a real person, so applies to drawn, animated, 3d or written alike.

In real life, you have to work with what you’ve got, and with the limitations thereof. When dealing with drawn mediums or similar, you don’t have the same restrictions, and it’s all about the imagination involved. The sheer amount of art styles out there make it easier to cater to your aesthetic tastes, the ability for people to create something to fulfil a particular kink or interest at will.

The flip side of the coin is that it’s a given that drawn porn isn’t supposed to reflect reality, whilst real life porn tends to be more influential on skewing a person’s world-view on the expectations of sex in general.

All that said, I simply cannot see the ongoing appeal in Betty Boop. I mean, I certainly understand the popularity back in the thirties when it was created, given that it was the latest and greatest for it’s day, but other than being a classic iconic character, but I’d have a hard time being convinced that she’s aged well over the years.

I developed a deep emotional attachment to cartoon characters at a very early age (during times that were tough in my family), and once I hit puberty, that attachment turned sexual. The first time I ever saw porn of a character I knew, I never balked; it just seemed like such a natural thing to me, somehow…

1st off, just to get it out of the way, i really dont see any appeal to betty boop, just like mustelid.

However, i do know why i like cartoons more than real people, other than the usual answer that they can do what real people cant. and that is *drumroll* they are way better looking. when a character is well drawn, they’re smooth, colorful, and basically, much more appealing to the eye than actual people are. when you see real people, they all have some flaw with them, which isnt always what you get with cartoon characters. real people have strange attributes to them that i find to be unappealing, whereas cartoons usually arent drawn in a way that gives them these different things.

oh, and, cartoon characters are usually a lot less cheesy than real life porn. and they dont wear such stupid clothing, like the huge high heels that are pretty much constant in real porn. who wears those while doing anything like that? take off your shoes! lol

I like pornographic art because of many of the reasons you list, and because it’s sort of an idealized representation of the subject that can be altered to match whatever you want! (Kinda like what Michael said.)

Also, I find that there’s no disappointment that cartoons are not real, as we’re all viewing them on computers. Why should porn have to be pictures of real people when they’re stuck on the other side of a screen anyway? Toons fit the abstraction of the medium by being obviously synthetic creations, heh.

Cartoons are hot because they’re unabtainable, something you can’t have

  • CinosNroca Says:

I don’t know really. Cartoons have been sexy to me for as long as I can remember. I really haven’t given it any thought until now. The reason’s listed by you and in the comments pretty much sum it up. The longing for the unobtainable, nostalgia, a feeling of peace and happiness that only a cartoon can bring.

It’s hard to explain, but all that matters is it makes me happy, and I have no intentions of changing just because society thinks I’m ‘weird’. Society just doesn’t know what it’s missing!

    *sigh* I wish I´d knew… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It started with Kimba (Junguru Taitei) when I was 2 1/2 yo, and I didn´t know why I liked him so much (as a boy!!!). Then there are Rita, the vixen from “Jungledyret Hugo”, Nala and Kiara from “The Lion King”, Lupinchen from “Fix und Foxi”, Dah-Lin from “The Bamboo Bears”, etc. p.p. …

  • RallyJay Says:

    Two reasons for me.

One is because we live vicariously through these characters. They get to go on adventures and live lives we can only dream of. We identify closely with their personalities, their ambitions, their hopes and their dreams because of how much time we spend with them. They often have an enviable love life because their s/o was specifically created for them — nothing can really go wrong because “it’s meant to be.” On top of all that, these characters have eternal youth, another thing we all desire in some way, for sexual and other reasons, but can never possess for ourselves.

Two is because with cartoons, anything is possible. It doesn’t matter what your fetish is, the cartoon world gives you a way to express it. This makes cartoon porn infinitely more varied than the real kind, not to say that I dislike the real kind, but cartoon porn simply offers more.

  • John M Hanna Says:

I like naughty cartoons for pretty much the same reasons Joe. I think it was ‘Josie & The Pussycats’ that started me thinking about 2D girls in a sexual way. That cartoon couldn’t have made it any more blatant.

  • Humbird0 Says:

The reason I like sexy cartoons is because their expressions and actions tend to look much more genuine. Unlike an actress trying to portray something in real-time, a drawing can be carefully crafted and refined to perfection.

  • DMajorBoss Says:

Personally, I think it’s because it was with cartoons that I understood what erotica was. That is to say, I found images of cartoons (my favorite cartoons) in certain “situations” when I was younger and, in seeing them, started to “understand” what sex and love was. From that point on, I found an appeal to them.

    • Nymousano Says:

Just out of curiosity: Which toon-characters of which shows were that (if I may ask)?

      • Joe Randel Says:

Those would be Tony Toons, Chip n’ Dales Rescue Rangers and Tail Spin.

        • Nymousano Says:

          Aah, Babs Bunny, Gadget Hackwrench and Rebecca Cunningham, amirite? 🙂 I add Kit Cloudkicker to the list, too. Unusual for a guy who´s normally not gay, but every rule has it´s exception… ^^;

Okay, now let´s see if DMajorBoss replys either. 🙂
