innards – post 235

Ever wonder Godzilla’s insides looked like?  How does he produce that fire breath?  Well wonder no further as these vintage scans show just that.  It breaks down Godzilla and how he (she?) works on an anatomical level.  But wait, there’s more!  Not only Godzilla but other Japanese movie monsters have been broken down as to how they’re built.

What’s really cool about this is that it totally takes me back to when I was young.  I loved (and still love) looking at illustrated cut away diagrams.  When ever I came across one I would stare at it for hours and study the workings of what ever it was, car engine, muscle structure, building skeleton, it didn’t matter.  So when I saw this, I was 7 years old again.  Ahhh… what a great feeling ^_^

This reminds me of an old episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 where Joel and the bots did a sketch where they looked at Gamera’s anatomy. Inside, there was a game room and ice cream factory for his friend Kenny.
