What was your high point this past weekend?

One of mine was on Sunday when I spread some bread crumbs on our front lawn so my son (19 months old) and I could watch the squirrels and birds eat and play from our front window.  He had lots of fun gasping and pointing at all the critters.  It was so cute ^_^

Low point was when my apricot bread failed to rise.  Not sure what I did to screw it up but it came out half the size it should.  Oh well, it still tastes fine and the kids like it ^_^

How about you?

So I finally went to the doctor to see about my arm as it still aches.  After being looked at I was told that it would seem that I’ve strained the muscle in my arm and that it’s nothing to be concerned about.  The worst part of it is that because I draw for a living the time it’ll take to heal properly will be much, much longer then normal as I just can’t stop my career for two to three weeks and let my arm rest.  Bummer…  I juts have to take it easy when I can.

I think I’ll try and see an osteopath and see if I can get some advice on how to keep things from getting worse.  Not that I’m expecting things to get worse but mostly how to lessen the strain on it with proper stretching and what not.

Oh well… the price you pay for getting old I guess. ^_^

So in my last post I mentioned that I’ve opened my doors for commissions once again.  Times get tight sometimes and so a little extra money is needed.  How long is the commission door open?  Not sure, but I would imagine for a while.  Here’s the run down.

COST
$30 bucks will get your idea drawn out and digitally painted. I’ll send you the rough drawing, the cleaned up version (which will be cleaned up in pencil) and a print on photo paper.  If you really want I’ll find a way to get you the PSD if you want a version of that too.

Add $10 bucks for a specific background if you want one.

Add $10 bucks per extra character.

I’ll draw pretty much anything.  Just tell me what you want and I’ll let you know if I’ll do it.

OTHER PAYMENT METHODS

As you all know I love video games and in the past I’ve traded art for games with good results.  So if you have no money but video games you don’t want, type out a list and maybe we can strike a deal.  Or if you can find a game that I’m looking for real cheap you could make a deal for yourself.

Example.  A short list of games I’m after…

Disgaea DS
Ico (PS2)
Hotel Dusk:  Room 215 (DS)
Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)
Mega Man X3 (SNES)

If you can find one of these games at your local game shop for $15 bucks… that you just got a pic with a background and an extra character if you so choose.  Deal?

I’m sure by now most know that Nintendo is releasing a new DS.  If you didn’t then come out of your cave and sit by the fire and I’ll tell you what’s going down.  As most have be predicting for… months now, Nintendo has got a new DS called, the DSi,  hot and ready for release in exchange for your hard earned moneys.  What’s new about it is that it’s got a larger screen (a whole 1/4 of an inch) it’s a touch lighter, no GBA slot, MP3 playback, camera (.3 megapixel) and an SD slot all for about $180.  How’s that all grab at ya?  Huh…?  HUH?!

I’m not sure about it to be honest.  I’ll miss the GBA slot since I play my GBA games still and the charge port on my GBASP is busted.  So my DS is main way to play games for two systems.  MP3 playback doesn’t float my boat at all… I really don’t care and the camera on my phone is better then what the DSi is going to have.  The SD slot is what makes my eye brows go up.  It sounds like an open door for homebrew and pirates AAAARRRR….!!!  Which is a strange move since big N cracked down on the sale of R4 carts.  It’ll be interesting to see what comes out of that decision.

Will I or won’t I.  I don’t know to be honest.  I’ll have to sit on it for a bit before I make a decision on lite or DSi.  I have the time since it’s not sechduled to come over here until sometime late 2009.  How about you?  What’s your take on it?
