I Won!
So this week I was at some healthy eating thing at my kids school. It was a pretty fun and we learned some things, as one often does at events like this. At the end of the evening there was a draw for some prizes AND WE TOTALLY WON! What we walked away with is new crock pot (slow cooker). Which is cool, but we already have one. We got it as a wedding gift and it’s the biggest damn crock pot you’ve ever seen. I could cook other crock pots in my crock pot. This new one is about a medium sized pot. Not sure what we’re going to do with it honestly. Maybe we’ll gift it to someone.
I don’t win things very often, and by that I mean never. So this was pretty exciting even though we had one already. What was the last thing you won?

Congrats on winning something. 🙂 When I was younger I used to win just about everything I participated in (anoying isn’t it 😛 ) guess now I’ve used up a lot of my luck though, but I still win once in a while. As far as I recall, the last time I won something was a costume contest at a party last year, the prize being a gift certificate for two cinema-tickets… I still am clueless about what movie to watch though.

I used to win drawing/art contests. I once won a cultural equality poster contest in high school and got an CD/tape/radio. I was so happy to win that. Not to toot my own horn but I totally stomped the other entries. The judges told me that when my entry came in they declared the winner without seeing any others. Oh yeah. ^_^

Nice! Well I dunno if you are into cheese, but a medium crock pot can make a heck of a batch of cheese dip! Great for movies, parties, or just when you have a hunkering for cheese. mmmmmm cheese!

It is nice to win things occasionally, too bad it wasn’t something that you needed. I’m sure you’ll find a good home for it.
The last thing I won was a writing contest. I wrote a poem that answered a logic puzzle, and won a book filled with logic puzzles (score!). Can’t really think of any other contests that I’ve won (don’t enter many).
Congrats on winning the high school art contest. That sounds like a great victory. I seem to recall you winning (or, tying for 1st?) naughty art contest a slew of years back.

I won a t-shirt from toplessrobot.com. The contest was ‘Japan’s Revenge For The American Version Of Akira’. Take a revered western franchise and put it through a Japanese filter. My winning entry was a Japanese version of ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ called ‘Super Happy Mystery 3000 Theater Go!’. Jiro Robinson and his robots Cro-san and Ken Servo watch guro and tentacle rape animes and riff on them. Unfortunately, when I wear the shirt, I have to explain to anyone who asks what it is and how I got it.
