Back From Christmas Holidays

Hello and Happy New Year to you all!  I hope that you all had a fun and safe holiday season.  Mine was safe, but I did spend most of it sick.  Not just sick mind you, sick and away from home visiting family.  Ugh… but I put on a brave face and pushed though the best I could until I could get home.  Then stayed up till midnight on New Years and made it worse.  Double UGH!  I wasn’t alone in my suffering, Wife was sick with me so I at least had company.

At least I wasn’t sick on Christmas Day.  I felt fine on that day, and I’m glad because I was able to enjoy some of the fantastic gifts my wife got me this year.  I was truly shocked to find that she ordered a large Jessica Rabbit statue for me.  That’s her in the top image.  Not the one from the Disney Parks, she said she wanted me to pick that out for myself, but said this one should tie me over until then.  Continue on to see the full statue shot I also took.

How sweet is that?

She also scored me Chris Sanders full folio collection.  All of them signed by him too!  ~Joy!

Finally, I almost fell off the couch when I unwrapped this one.  It’s the full history on Tinkerbell with early concepts, rough drawings and everything!  Oh yeah… my wife knows what I like. ^_^

Wow your wife really knows what you like. I’m glad you found someone to spend your life with that thinks outside the box. My wife is the same way. ……still haven’t gotten her to buy me a sexy figure yet. Maybe Christmas 2014

Hi, big fan. this is a little off topic, but have you tried anthropromorphizing some harder creatures, like a scorpion? or a lobster? I have an idea for shellfish (clams oysters etc.) basically an open shell with stubby legs and what looks like a really flexible maniquin inside. let me know if you’re gonna try em. I will watch for new art as always, once again, big fan

Hmmm… can’t say that I’ve ever done anything like that. I always like a good challenge. I’ll probably open up for commissions again next month or so keep an eye out and maybe we can work something out.

That would be awesome, you’re, like, my favorite artist

Jealousy is not something I aspire to. However, I can’t help but feel it today. Your wife is awesome. Mine got me a pressed steel Model-T model. Yes, the manufacturing and construction is interesting, but I’m not even a car fan (and she should know that). The haul that you got is awesome.

Out of curiosity, where do you keep your sexy figures? I wouldn’t mind having some, but am wary of having them available for public consumption.

Also, and this is a long-shot, who did the J.R. figure? It looks quite a bit like the same artist who did a cardinal carving that I gave to my wife.

I think I can answer those questions. First, the artist’s name is Jim Shore. He’s a fantastic folk artist and has done hundreds of statues. Not all for Disney though. If you check is site (easy to find) you might be able to find the cardinal one you gave your wife if this is the artist in question. I actually have a Tinkerbell one as well. She’s simply wonderful. As for where I keep them, they’re on my desk at work for all to see. Jessica, Tinkerbell and Summertime Peaches all keep me company while I work and keep me happy through out the day. ^_^

Yup. That’s him. Guess is wasn’t such a long-shot after all. It was the swirly designs on her dress and the diamond pattern on the base that gave him away. Checked out his site, had no idea he was so prolific.

Hmm… you keep them at work…. That, unfortunately, is not an option for me. Guess I’ll go sans sexy figures for the near future.
