First messy pic of 2012

So remember that Jeanette rough pic I posted a few days ago?  We I also found this Jeanette pic.  It was uncoloured but and been totally cleaned up.  I figured that it must be a sign that this was the pic I was to do.  I painted it up and made it messy, just how I like it.  Sort of… When I make my messy, sloppy pics I’m usually like “Yeah! She’s totally messy!  Lots of spooge!” But then after, I feel like… “yeah… she’s pretty messy… I guess”.  And I feel like I could have gone further.  So, now I’m looking to hear what others think.  Did I go messy enough… or could I have done better?  (messy version past the link) Continue reading

Jeanette rough

Seeing as how we where talking about the Chipmunks/Chipettes a few days ago and I also mentioned posting rough pics I guess this is  pretty good time to post this.  I actually just found it today when I was going though some old PSD’s.  It’s from 2008 according to the date on it.  It seems that I drew her more true to the cartoon in this one.  Opinions and thoughts on that are welcome.

Chipmunks 3

So during my holidays I got to take in a movie.  Things I watch have to be family friendly (unless it’s a date night with Wife) so as a New Years Eve treat, we took the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.  I know, I know… many have voiced their dislike of the CG designs of the 80’s cartoon we grew up with (I’m assuming that you are all with in the same age as I am), and I agree… mostly.  I do like the designs of the main characters.  I think they did a good job of making them actual chipmunks unlike the cartoon where they were… I’m not really sure.  What I don’t care for is the Chipette CG designs.  They just look out of proportion to me.  Especially Elenore, her head is HUGE!  Brittany was okay and Jeanette just looked odd.

The other thing I found strange is the sexuality that they put in to the Chipettes.  The sexy dancing and the scene where they come out all in towels that don’t quite go to the bottom (the below picture isn’t the best sample but the best I could find).  I don’t remember them putting that in to the cartoon… but it has been a while.  I might have to check that out again.

Over all, the movie was just okay and pretty much what you’d expect from a Chipmunk flick.  The kids liked it and that’s what matters.  Did you take in a movie on during the holidays?

Wanna see..

There’s an artist out there that by the name of Lando that is doing cute pics of the Chipmunks.  They’ve inspired me to do up a quick one of Jeanette.  I guess before you show your hoo-ha off to the boys it’s good to practice first. ^_^

Double Brittany

So I’ve made a new Chipette’s cross section picture.  Why?  Because I love doing them.  See, I love to take popular (or past popular characters and make them all hardcore and such.  There is an issue with The Chipmunks and Chipettes…  They seem a bit young and so I can’t post them on FA.  I do age them up a bit, but I prefer to keep them close to the original models.  Close to what people remember them to be.  Does this make them more loli then I should be making them?  Should I age them up more?  Do I go too far or is it cool with you because they’re just cartoons?  What’s your opinion on these characters?  Oh, and you can see the finished piece after the link.
