Benja was introduced so late in the first draft of the series, there was no time to really explain this, or showcase any examples of him being Usako's bodyguard.

This time I saw the chance to introduce this concept and took it. Plus, since he was already introduced as King's bouncer in the last volume, this isn't as random since we saw him before.
