    HAVE FUN IN ANTHROCON!!!

whats gotten me so excited was the fact that today i was in Phili airport, just knowing i couldve been in the same room/corridor/baggage area, as one of the guys here or sumwhere else that were arriving for anthrocon got me so anxious, and pissed, cuz of the fact that im not going, and that i was there today.(phili not the actual place the con is held). next year though, i will make plans... im just hoping they dont move it far away. or at all.

I go through Pennsylvania twice a year. Once going to New York State, and once coming back from New York State. Both times through Harrisburg and Williamsport. The Susquehanna River Valley has wonderous views.

Fact: They actually have post cards of THREE MILE ISLAND. Go figure.

As much as there was a serious problem at Three Mile Island, it is still a very active power station, generating almost 90% of the area's power, so hey, wouldn't you want a post card?

Yes, I know TMI-1 is still running at full power for the Harrisburg area and is expected to continue that pace for another ten years when it will be decommissioned. With Shearon Harris nearby where I live, I keep tabs with what's going on in that department. Heck, Chernobyl in the Ukraine is still running one unit despite the ongoing radiation problems from the 1986 meltdown...but they are expected to shut down permanently by the end of this year.

It's just kinda odd though seeing a nuclear power plant on a post card, although Three Mile Island did make fame after the 1979 incident. I've seen stranger post cards. C'est la vie.

umm, i dunno... if minnesota is in the northern hemisphere, then yes.

i just wondered if that is indeed true. i bet its close, because if you go west too much farther you will be closer to the US again. but i am a geek for overanalyzing, so lets leave it at that

That may be too close for comfort, some may say. I live about 50 miles from the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant (northeast unfortunately, damn trade winds ). When I lived in New York State, I was about 20 miles from the R.E. Ginna Nuclear Plant. At least the distance got better...

Nafruf, this Shearon Harris ain't a girl we're talking about. :P I have seen some girls though that think they're nuclear power plants.
