So the other night I was going out to visit some friends when I found my self in a fender bender.  Ugh… It was totally my fault too.  I had just turned on to a one way street looking for the place I was going to, when I noticed a dead possum on the road.  I slowed and started to go around it by going in to my right but didn’t look.  That’s when I clipped the other driver that was coming up on my right side.  I totally didn’t look before I started to veer… I feel so stupid.  I’ve been driving for 12 years and never had an accident until yesterday.

Looks like I’ll be claiming this on insurance.  It’s not a lot of damage (we weren’t going that fast) but there is enough.  My front driver corner is all cracked and her passenger side is pushed in and scratched.  We still have to see if there is any damage we can’t see yet.  We where planing on saving to go to Disney next year, but I think this might put a damper on that.  We’ll see.

I’m still pretty stressed about the whole deal.  No one was hurt thank goodness.  Needless to say but to make any extra money I’ll be looking for high paying freelance and commissions as well.  I’ll put a note out when I can take one is anyone is interested.

So this week I was at some healthy eating thing at my kids school.  It was a pretty fun and we learned some things, as one often does at events like this.  At the end of the evening there was a draw for some prizes  AND WE TOTALLY WON!  What we walked away with is new crock pot (slow cooker).  Which is cool, but we already have one.  We got it as a wedding gift and it’s the biggest damn crock pot you’ve ever seen.  I could cook other crock pots in my crock pot.  This new one is about a medium sized pot.  Not sure what we’re going to do with it honestly.  Maybe we’ll gift it to someone.

I don’t win things very often, and by that I mean never.  So this was pretty exciting even though we had one already.  What was the last thing you won?

It was a long Family Day weekend here in Canada.  I spent the day with my family and my brother-in-law’s family.

What’s you favorite kind of ice cream?  Mine is Chocolate Mint.  Now, when you’re out and have have the opportunity to have ice cream, how often do you get your favorite kind?  I rarely do.  I usually get some other flavor.  I’m always curious about other kinds.  Maybe there is something better, or maybe I’m just curious about something I’ve never seen or tried before.  Regardless, I rarely get what my favorite is, or what I know I like.  This has actually extended to most of my meals when I’m out at a restaurant too.  I’ll probably get something I’ve never had before.  This started when I was on a cruse and I thought to myself “when will I ever be back here to try these things”?  I decided then that I would try new things when I’m out rather then get the usual favorite.

Do you always get your favorite food or do you try new things?

I’m sure that regular visitors have noticed the change in the blog look.  As I’ve mentioned before, I’m trying out a new WordPress theme.  I’m still on the fence about it and I’ll let you in as to why.  I bought one because I loved the gallery it had and the layout it presented.  It looked very snazzy and had what I was looking for to make this area evolve to what I wanted it to be.  The issues I’m having with it is time.  It might sound trivial, but I don’t have the time to put in to doing lots of leg work behind the scenes.  Which is what I like about my current theme.  I can insert an image and it will become the title image of the current post.  It will scale it properly to fit the blog, no worries.  Quick and easy.  With this new one, I need to make sure the image is the proper size to fit the blog or it will overlap the side bar and make things look crappy.  Also, posting an image at the top of the post will not make it the title image.  I’ll need to make a thumbnail or smaller size image and add that in a separate section.  This will totally break the whole blog, as none of my previous posts have these special thumb nails and so will lack a title image.  Sigh…  The only work around is to go back and make thumbnails for every post I’ve done which is something I’m not willing to do.

I feel that I made a decision to buy something with out really making sure it’ll fit what I need, but was sold on the flashiness of it.  I still love the gallery set up it has and the slider image on the top (I really love that) and the clean look it has.  But it’s not worth breaking the rest of the content.  I’ve found another theme and I’ll give it a try.  It was free and seems to have the things that I want as well.  I hope it won’t break things as well.  If it does, I’ll go back to old theme and find a new gallery set up that works.  Sorry for the crazy back and forth on the look of things while I figure it all out.  Hopefully it won’t be for long.

So I’m pretty sure most can guess what I’m playing.  I’ve got Aliens in my DS and Mario Galaxy 2 in my Wii.  I’m totally enjoying both games.  Mario feels like a continuation of what made the first one so awesome and Aliens is full of pixel action goodness.  I’ll probably to a better review on it once I get more in to it.
