E3: day three

So what happened on day 3 at E3? Well, I’ve come to realize that as cool as it is being at E3, I miss all the news and announcements. I know, I know… it sounds strange. But the news is what I love hearing the most and I’m missing it all playing all the games. ^_^

So today I spent most of the day in the South Hall playing pretty much all the things at the Natsume booth. I sure to loves me some Harvest Moon, but none seem to be as good as the one on the 64. I also played a game at the NIS booth called Witches Tail. It’s a cute little goth DS game with witches, vampires and such. It looked very nice. To my surprise though, the most fun I had was with a game called Fast Food Frenzy. It’s like Cooking Mama in that you cook, but you’re a short order cook so you have to do things faster then Mama. It was a blast!

I also played a ton of Red Steel 2. Now, I never played the first one, so I’m not jaded by the series. I was able to play with a fresh and open mind and you know what? I really liked it. The game play was fun (although a bit tiring) and the art style is fantastic. I give it two thumbs up. I was able to get my hands on some Soul Caliber on the PSP. I played very well and the female characters where… um… more then a little bouncy. ^_^

Later I watched Ubi show a demo of Splinter Cell Conviction. Now, they had it set up where a Ubi staffer would play the game and someone would talk to the crowd. I have a good guess why it was set up this way… the game wasn’t playable at all. At least that’s my guess. See, I just happened to see the most of the demo twice at two different times, at two different locations and I noticed that the staffers had Sam do the EXACT same moves. My guess is that the game isn’t ready to play but Ubi had to show something cool. Just a hunch.

I also got to play some Tatsunoko vs Capcom finally. It plays just like a vs game from Capcom, but it’s not at as quick and twitchy. I liked it too… even though I lost. After that I wandered to the Nintendo booth again and played some Wii Fit Plus. It’s just like regular Wii Fit, infact, it as all the games from Wii Fit along with all the new ones. Which, from what I’m told, doubles the amount of games in it. I played one where my Mii was dressed as a chicken and I had to flap my arms and land on several platforms. It was lots of fun and I noticed people taking my picture as I flapped my way though the game. ^_^

Oh, one other thing I did was go down to Little Tokyo in LA… and man is it little. It’s only about two blocks in total. I was looking for a Japanese book store but couldn’t find it. It must not exist anymore. I did find a toy/figure store and a video store that had books in it. I found some art books but at $50 a pop… I passed. So I bought two little toys from an outlet shop. One was a Dragon Warrior pixel magnet display stand and the other was a figure in a box. Both had no windows in the packaging so it’s completely random which one you get. Lucky I got the figure I wanted, but not the magnets… oh well. They’re still cool. ^_^

Well, as soon as I get the pictures up on my blog, I’ll let you guys know. I’ll post the final day report later. ^_^

On to the Final Day ->
