Tink Progress Report

Some people out there have express doubts that my Tinkerbell folio will be done.  It has been a long time I admit.  I only get to draw it in my evening and even then, not every evening.  Even though I’ve been at this for a while, there has never been a time where I wanted to stop drawing it.  I’m almost done all the line work and I can move on to the painting.  I decided to do all the line work first that way I get constant experience drawing the characters.  Painting them one after another should keep my colours consistent too.  I hope others are still excited for this, I know I am. ^_^

It’s Not Over

Hey, look at that.  The world didn’t end after all.  I guess I’ll have to finish that Tink folio now.  Here’s a quick tease image for you then.  Do you know the other fairy I’ve drawn with her?  She’s from the Tinkerbell CG movies.^_^

Tink Folio Update

It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned the Tinkerbell folio I’ve been working on so I’ve decided to tease you all a bit.  This here is a small showing of what’s been done and what’s left to be done.  I’ve finished the line work for the first 10 images, but have yet to paint them.  I decided that it would be better to do all the clean lines first so I can get better at drawing her faster.  I have to say that it’s working fantastically!  I absolutely love the progress that’s being made and I’m super happy with the pictures.

The next segment will feature Tink and one of her fairy friends from the CG movies.  Once those are done I’ll get on painting them.  I can’t say when this will all be done.  I have a time in my head, but I don’t want to announce anything only to miss a deadline or rush the final product.  I can’t wait to see it when it’s done though, it should be awesome! ^_^

Congrats!  You’ve found the end of the commission contest, but did you get all the answers right? ^_^

Peter Pan Sexiness

The other day I noticed that we had borrowed the Disney classic Peter Pan from a friend.  It occurred to me that I had never seen the original Peter Pan in it’s entirety.  I’ve seen clips of it over the years but never the whole thing.  Well, I figured that since I’m doing a Tinkerbell folio (trying to at any rate) that I should watch it and see the original Tink in action.  While I did expect to see a different Tinkerbell from the current CG movies, I was shocked just how different she was.  Not only that, but the over all sexiness that was put in to the movie as a whole.  I took a bunch of screen shots of what I thought where the cutest and sexiest moments of the film.  Follow the link to see what I snapped. Two Tinks

I’ve found that since I started this Tinkerbell folio I’m constantly on the look out for other Tinkerbell merchandise.  Mostly to see how other artists have drawn her.  I’m noticing that all artists seem to draw her a bit differently.  Which is understandable… I guess.  You’d think that who ever approves these at Disney would have a more critical eye when it comes to illustrations of one of their key characters.

During my study of Tink, I’ve noticed that there are now two different versions that Disney markets.  There is the classic one which has some attitude and sex in her.  She’s marketed to adult Disney fans.  Then there is the CG one that is marketed to kids.  This version is cuter, friendlier and more helpful to other characters around her.

The one that I’m basing my folio after is the CG one.  I find the appeal much greater then the classic one.  Plus she comes with a whole troop of friends in which to have fun with. ^_^

As for the fuzzy little Tink in the top picture.  I found her at a Toy’s R Us clearance table for only 25 cents!  Well, I couldn’t just leave her there, so she came home with me and is now the supervisor on the folio.  I better get back to it… she’s a real slave driver.

Tink Rough

Thought I’d post up a bit of a tease pic from the Tinkerbell folio I’m doing up.  This pic is actually done, but I like the rough and thought I’d put a bit of it up to share (no peeking though… sorry ^_^).  If people are wondering about why her hair isn’t in her typical bun, it’s because in the Tinkerbell CG movie she arrives in Pixie Hollow wearing a milk seed dress and her hair is down like this… and she looks super cute.  I thought it might be cool to do a pic of her like that.  Any thoughts?
