I've just heard about a change of patreon's policy regarding adult content. It seems they wanted or want to ban it. How does that affect you? Will you still be able to put your pictures to patreon?

Hi Liquidgold. The most recent kerfuffle on Patreon concerns "real life" adult content, so it's actually live action porn and erotic movies they are banning (apparently some users offered webcam porn of themselves as a reward for their patrons). So NSFW art is not concerned in this case. there were restrictions imposed on certain types of content half a year ago, and reading the rules of service, those seem to be the same still, and I do abide by those for the monthly Patreon pictures.
But I will admit that there has been a certain amount of drama over Patreon in the last year (the one I was actually displeased about was that for a while they charged a fee to the patrons themselves, luckily this was quickly rolled back), which has damaged their trustworthiness in the eyes of many potential patrons. i'm in the process of trying to set up an account with Enty, Patreon's Japanese equivalent, at this time: it's damn unwielding if you only speak a bit of the language, but at least there's no worries over content there, and it may offer a proper alternative for those who don't like Patreon.

Are you sure? Because I read a little further and it seems that according to their new guidelines from October last year (patreon.com/guidelines) they also banned a lot of painted stuff (directly from the "adult content" section of these guidelines: "This is true for illustrated, animated, or any other type of content") which among other things includes bestiality, incest and sexual depictions of minors (they call all these "sexual violence" which is of course ridiculous but they do). So maybe it really is better that you look for a new home. In any case I keep my fingers crossed that you don't get any problems with them.

Yeah, those are those new restrictions I was talking about, and I do make sure my monthly Patreon pictures follow those; I actually don't post that much content on Patreon itself. Apart from those exclusive pictures, all my stuff is freely available on Pixiv or here. I have no desire to use Patreon as a pay site, only as a "tipping jar".
